Major Research Activities
Engaged in long-term research on transportation geography and urban-rural planning, achieving systematic innovations in theories of urban-rural space and transportation interactions, urban system modeling and big-data simulation technologies, and applications in territorial and spatial planning. Published over 300 papers in journals including PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America), National Science Review, and Scientia Sinica, authored 7 English monographs and 5 Chinese monographs, and holds 15 national invention patents. Research outcomes have supported the formulation of China’s National Comprehensive Transportation Network Plan, provincial/municipal territorial spatial plans, urban agglomeration/metropolitan area plans, and urban transportation plans. Recognized as an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher and listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists.
